Larry Bird was undoubtably the greatest clutch player to ever play the game of basketball. Not only did he hit game winners, he hit them against great players like Magic Johnson, Charles Barkley, Michael Jordan and Clyde Drexler (twice) He also had a playoff, game ending steal against Isiah and a game/series ending steal against the Boston Strangler.

@badpdx All good points and I would agree. Regarding passing, I think Larry had an instinct to pass that Jordan didn't develop until later in his career. I remember Phil Jackson screaming at Jordan in the 91 finals -"who's open?" Jordan replied "Paxson". Phil - "then get him the ball" and Paxson just drilled those shots! Jordan got better later in his career because of this.

1. In my opinion, Bird was a better clutch player than MJ. I'm a Celtics fan, but also a Trailblazers fan. Watching Bird burn my team at the last second time after time after time, I have to go with Larry. It's pretty close, though.
2. The guy below who said Bird was better than MJ because he passed the ball in the clutch must have forgotten about John Paxson and Steve Kerr.
3. LBJ is not as good as his fans think but better than the haters think.

I loved it when "tragic" missed those 2 free throws and bird comes down the court and nails the go ahead bucket in magics face
