The first of a goodly collection of Stanley Holloway monlogues and songs. This, I think is the most famous of all, young Albert gets eaten by a lion.

we did this poem in class a few weeks ago and when we heard stanley say it we were laughing our heads off at the way he talks and how nonchalant albert's parents were about him being eaten

Brilliant... my Dad did too. He was 75 in January, but unfortunately now has Alzheimer's. I was always amazed at how he knew this word for word. Now I feel like I'd like to be able to recite it word for word, accent in place, too...

The new Wetherspoons Pub in Blackpool is called "The Albert and The Lion". It's next to the Tower and and is appropriately in an old Woolworths building.
