  • Now that you've owned it for a couple of years, I wonder if you still think it has a "good build quality"?

I've found that the detents just can't support the weight of the body under any kind of motion, such as walking briskly. So it constantly flops down. Good for illuminating your belt buckle, though. ;-)

On a positive note, the customer service is responsive, and replaced my first EOS. Unfortunately, the replacement was no better.

  • @markj90503 I still love this headlamp. It doesn't get constant use, but I do use it throughout the winters. I haven't purchased another one yet because this one works so well for me. Lately I have been shopping for a headlamp that takes a single AA batt, but it is tough to find one that will have the same qualities this one does.

  • I have an older (2004) Corona and it has been great.

  • Excellent review... I'm a wildlife biologist and I've had three of these headlamps since 2004 (with older one watt luxon LED) and they're still going strong after years of extensive, hard usage. I just got two of the new second generation EOS Headlamps two years ago and they have wider beam, but less throw (Lux). I have had not issues with these headlamps at all, and they are use extensively for night time field research and are beat up quit a bit.

  • @a1147538 Chinese components! "Assembled in the US"

  • Brilliant **MADE IN USA** quality, great item.

  • Super! Клевый фонарег!

  • Nice review, the EOS is nice, however i'm using a Zebralight H31 @ 220 real lumens in a smaller package than the EOS. nice quality too.

Can't wait for the next Zebralight with XM-L LED, over 300 real lumen and smaller than EOS, that's insane!

I'm gonna mod my EOS to a XM-L, i love the design..

  • Excellent review!!

The newer 70 lumen model will be my next headlamp....

  • I have a few of these, along with a couple other name brands, the EOS is probably my favorite headlamp. I use the rechargeable batteries at home but not in the field, as the rechargeables drain unevenly(maybe it's just me), one lithium drains, and it's lights out. In my experience good alkalines are the best choice.
