JBS Haldane famously suggested that the universe may not only be 'queerer than we suppose' but also may be 'queerer than we can suppose'. The limitations on our supposition presumably are the result of possessing brains shaped by evolution to solve the problems of 'medium sized objects moving at medium speed' as Dawkins put it, not the problems found at the outer reaches of physics and the other sciences. The odd thing is, that despite this obvious limitation, we are still able to not only suppose but also theorise, discover, and predict the properties of phenomena which are way beyond the horizon of direct human embodiment.
