Using Hebrew and Greek in Bible study?
Whenever I've heard an Hebrew/Greek word used to provide "insight" or to "clarify" the English scripture, either
1: It was a false definition used to promote the perverted wording of newer bible versions,
2: It provided extra detail that had no relevance whatsoever to the point of the verse, or
3: It's meaning was already obvious from the CONTEXT of the verse in English; the Hebrew/Greek was completely unneccessary.
Why use a corrupted uninspired lexicon to interpret an edited Hebrew/Greek text, when we already have a flawless inspired English Bible? The English Bible is SELF-CONTAINED. If it wasn't, then it would have been pointless for God to translate it. Watch the other videos in my "Bible versions crash-course" playlist.

  • @calciumboy, Jesus nor his disciples spoke english! Someone with the most basic knowledge understands that to translate from one lanquage to another, will for the most part encounter those words that don't translate, please do research on William Tyndale, he literally invented words like, Passover, and short phrases like, my brothers keeper, etc.

  • @lkevins1 Jesus didn't speak English because nobody else did at the time either. Obviously, Jesus knows ALL languages and can put His word in English if He wants to. And the fact that some words were first used the KJB doesn't mean you need Hebrew/Greek dictionaries to define them. The Bible is self-defining. Read Riplinger's books "The Language of The King James Bible" and "In Awe of Thy Word".

  • So when the KJV says something like oh i dont know...UNICORN??? You honestly believe the original world UNICORN?? I think the KJV is good but come on are you seriously gonna tell me thats what it really is?

  • @joshuadaniel5 Webster's 1828 Dictionary: UNICORN: noun: 1. "an animal with one horn..." There's a species of Rhinoceros with one horn still alive today. That's most likely what it refers to. It's not the King James translators fault that people later started using the word 'unicorn' to refer to a mythological flying horse with one horn. (Of course you couldn't prove that there never was an actual species of horse with one horn.)

  • ..Hazardous Materials is a great book. Bottom line, put your faith in the Holy Bible not in the word of self appointed bible correctors. lol

  • Bravo!!! I love this video brother!! To hell (not hades) with the niv, nkjv, esv, nasb, and all the others that i have not mentioned!! Maybe Jimmy Swaggart can get this youtube video and learn something. I have in my possession a perfect complete bible that has been blessed by a king..and inspired by The King of Kings!

  • @worshippastor12 1. It doesn't matter what language(s) it's translated from if GOD is the one doing the translating. He knows what He's doing. 2. "MUST be universal?" By implication, you are saying that I can't know ANYTHING until I know EVERYTHING! That is agosticism, and creating an impossible burden of proof so you will never have to make a decision. How convenient.

  • Calciumboy I agree with your stance on issues. What is troubling is that people who do not know the Holy Spirit try to argue about ANY issues pertaining to God Everyone wants to be right. The Holy Spirit drew me to Him and has grown me up since and brought me to the AV. The Lord will bring the fervent closer to the Truth if we are sincerely born again. Renewing the mind is throwing out the old. Why don't people stop trying to make the bible conform to them, and start conforming to the Bible.

  • @joshuadaniel5 - I’m sure you would know much better than God and His eternal words. As a BIBLE BELIEVER: if the Bible says so, then it’s SO! That is how I take it. If you don’t then we know one thing for sure: YOU are NOT a Bible Believer.

  • @joshuadaniel5 - Unicorn is what it is, yes; and why not? Perhaps you are not aware that the Unicorn IS a real animal. Like the Dragon and the Satyr are real animals. Perhaps you also don't believe that there are Angles, because some people think that angels are mythological. So, is Leviathan REAL or not? (Job 41) That is the description of a fire breathing DRAGON: the king over all the children of pride.

  • @joshuadaniel5

Μονόκερος = the one who has one horn

Ένα=one=uno=...bla bla bla .... same root

    μονάδα=unit

Unit-ed=εν-ωμένος.....it's always the same root......Greek is my native language.

    So, it's UNI-CORN

Horn = Κέρας ....can you see the similarities ? I can go on and on and on by explaining the similarities between H and K ....but, anyway you get the point. .... I hope so.

    Have fun (with the Bible)

  • @calciumboy I love how you dance around this question. It is THE question that KJV onlyists like Gipp, Riplinger, and Ruckman never have a good answer for. Not all Bibles translated into other languages are based on the KJV. So the question remains, if a Spanish Bible is not translated from the KJV do those spanish speaking people have the inspired word of God or not? It's a yes or no not "they'll have to figure it out." If you want to make this claim, it MUST be universal not circumstancial.
