Queen Bee by Taj Mahal is a great song in the fingerpicking style of Mississippi John Hurt. This is played in just three chords: G, E, D. This video shows the picking patterns and the chords and some basic how to tips.

  • It can be played that way...but it is a bit different than the Taj way.

  • I should've mentioned that I learned this by ear...I've never seen Taj play it, nor have I seen a video of him playing it. I've just listened to it a kazillion times. But now I see a nice version of Queen Bee in the 'related videos' area by 'Frenibas' where he plays a bit of a "C" chord where I play the "E" chord. I'm going to study his tasteful version to clean my version up. I'm not even sure what key Taj plays this in. I know he likes to play songs in D and Dropped D somewhat.
