In the dutch version of this song, the whole band plays a G in the chorus at that point, sounds more natural to me. Anyway, didn't know this original version until now, glad I heard it and thank you YouTube !
Tommieparch, your grand dad played bass on this track? If you get the chance, ask him why he played a G in the first chorus when the rest of the band is playing an A. It's my favorite musical mistake, and sets the song apart.
well you can thank us hippies for your liberation because back in the early 60s parents still had total control over there children, and if they said you weren't going to see someone, then you weren't going to see someone. you didn't even have the law on your side back then....
dickey lee was a shit poor hick, he didnt write this song, the record label made him record it. his parents were so proud of his record deal, but they didnt even know this song, my grandad played bass guitar on this song... this was writen by a rich jew.. the double suicide never happened....col. tommy

There are many of these songs I would like to burn onto my own dvds. What is your policy about this?

Loved this and the other songs of teen age death of the 1960s. Oh, for the better times and then the mid sixties that set us all free.
