Short movie of these fascinating upside down swimming crustaceans in a rather artificial aquarium setting. The specimens originate from a pond near Utsjoki in Finnish lapland, august 2008.

The tall one is about 4 cm.

  • These are so cool :D are they wild caught??

  • theyre way cooler than seamonkeys!

  • WOW! urs can grow that big!

  • Haha These are so cool! Any idea where I could buy this species?

  • Great clip! It's tough to tell how large they (or the tank) are but this seems like a species related to the "Beavertail" fairy shrimps. Nice upload!

  • they are interesting and seem special to me!

  • Interesting, they are a very different shape from any others ive seen. Are they common in Finland? and what kind of temperature do they live at?

  • Some scale? I get the impression they are much larger than the american species.

also, is that an egg sack on the longer one?
