  • Doesnt supprise me that the Ghia won. A Karmann with a 300 hp and 1750 lbs stock curb weight will always win against a "lightened" Camaro with a 400hp with a stock curb weight of 3300 lbs. Its just math... Shaving 1000 lbs off the engine and body would still leave you with a difference of 700 lbs or so. Not to mention the VW H4 will provide better torque when built right with a shorter drive train thus resulting in less HP and lb of torque lost... Lightened or not he didnt stand a chance.

  • It's amazing you can get an engine designed in the 1930's to do that, but there's no substitute for cubic inches. You can get lightweight V8's, like the Rover unit and they weigh as much as a four cylinder (less sometimes).

  • A lot of that weight comes from the engine itself. Whats the point of even having a V8 if they weigh a ton and sound crap like that.

    vw's ftw!

  • hahahhahahhahah

  • lolol love it. That little turbo 2176 raped that v8!!

  • power to weight baby!!

  • ghia won even though camaro jumped...lol Just proves to show that you dont need a v8 to race and "WIN"
