During Season 4 of Smith & Smith, a weekly guest would come on the show to perform a number. As far as I can tell, most of the guests were either friends of theirs or local talent from the Toronto area, I assume. With the exception of one person, Frank Mills, the remaining 25 guests of the season are totally unfamiliar to me. And probably lapsed into obscurity after their appearances. Who knows.

Here, a guest named Sharon Timmins rips into a cover version of Rickie Lee Jones' "Danny's All-Star Joint".

  • fyi - many of the guests that were on S&S managed to maintain careers in entertainment - not too many actually 'lapsed into obscurity' - just for the record

  • @altheadig1 I obviously didn't mean any insult by my "lapsing into obscurity" comment. I'm sure the majority of the guests went on to do well for themselves, I'd just never heard of any outside of these appearances on Smith & Smith.

  • Sharon Timmins must have liked Rickie Lee Jones , because on an earlier episode (which apparently no longer exists) she had sung he "Chuck E's In Love" The only other guest I can recall appearing on the show who had any degree of fame was Noel Harrison.

  • Sadly, I've never seen anything past season 4, as my first exposure to S&S was when it aired on YTV during the early 1990's. It's such a pity that the first three seasons no longer exist. I often wonder if anyone in Canada actually taped any of the original broadcasts from the first three seasons. You'd think someone out there would have!
