The 24 piece Steve Cooper Orchestra playing Lawrence Welk`s opening theme song Champagne Time. This is an excerpt from a 3 hour concert held on September 24, 2000 in Skokie, Illinois.
Performing with Steve and the band were Welk stars Dick Dale, Big Tiny Little, Rocky Rockwell, trombonist Barney Liddell and vocalist Tanya Welk. Steve`s 10 piece ballroom band is a regular at the Chicago area Willowbrook Ballroom and has played ballrooms all over the Midwest for over 30 years. Steve`s website is: http://www.nbea.com/SCO.htm

  • It really loses something without the accordion....

  • That was pretty good! I liked that. I watch The Lawrence Welk show on PBS every saturday night. I especially love the older ones from the early 70s and the 60s and all the 50s ones in B&W. And anything with the Lennon Sisters.

  • WOW!! Sounds just like the real Lawrence Welk Orchestra!!! They should replace the one at the LW resort in Branson!!
