Rom 8:28 And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. Sometimes we have to go through the fire in order to be purified and come out of the battle closer to God. It is very hard at the time and we don't always understand what or why things are happening. Also, how we think things should work out isn't always in our best interest. God sees everything and we don't.
Believing that all the suffering will work out to be good gives a feeling of hope, but my doubt says because it never really turns out good (as I'd hope) that this is then a false hope. Do not know how to change or allow myself to be changed by God though I surrender before Him and this appears one-sided....I surrender and things are getting worse not better. When when it doesn't work out (for what I deem is good), what then?
We are driven to God through pain, but He does not necessarily remove the pain and is that God's way of helping us? Changing something in us will He then remove the suffering? Trusting Him for His best when it does not happen, say He will turn it for my good (in what I determine would be good - ex. no harm to an innocent child) or, if I am sexually violated as a 3-year-old.....how does one trust God thereafter?
