Time to fight a bat? Oh no, time to fight a big ass pissed off giant.
Here's Balore in the Arena.
This guy always gave me trouble, so I'm surprised that I beat him with no damage.
He has two forms. In both forms his target is one of his eyes. In form one, his left eye is his weakpoint. Here, he smashes you with his fists. I'm guessing that this is his pattern: he rams both fists in the air and then slowly brings them down. There's a small crouch space that you have were you can dodge him. Then he slams his fist in the ground. Run to the left or right to dodge and jump over his fists to attack. Note, his fists can damage you, but not his arms.
Form 2 comes up at varying HP lost. Here, he switches eyes to his right eye. He no longer pounds the ground with his fist but rather fires an eye laser on the ground burning it up. The best way to beat him here is to use the Medusa Soul and suspend yourself right next to his eye and wail on him.
Afterwards, you get the Balore soul and the Giant Bat soul, a soul needed to access the final area AND one of the three souls needed to get the game's true ending.
Then J comes around (glad he helped out) and remembers that he's Julius Belmont, the guy that beat Dracula in 1999. Now, why haven't they made that as a game yet?
Enjoy.
I remember the first time I met the bat I was like "Cool they brought the Giant bat back from castlevania 1 awesome!" Then Balore intervened and I was like "Oh shit."

Which song from the AoS soundtrack is that one that plays in your intro?
I think it's the credits one, but I'm not sure.

I think they are saving that for their last castlevania game, and I share your anticipation.
