Man, baroque music is the greatest of all styles of all eras(especially Bach and Handel)! I can't believe how people can think contemporary music as being better than this!!! THANK YOU HARMONICO!!!!!

@rosten736 Um, the composer of the immortal "Rule Britannia"?
Did you take the time to see what I was responding to or just too lazy?
-
@gdbalck Really? So then who is Thomas Arne?

Well, Hitler did't have the full picture. He was an amateur historian. He had read some history, but failed to learn from it. He should have learned from the Swedish king Charles XII and from Napoleon that Russia should not be invaded in in the winter, and that England would never accept a dominant continental power. Did'nt he know Pitt's politic of continental balance? Churchill followed it, as one would expect.

@achantus1 According to Mein Kampf, Europeans (Not eastern) were the creators of culture; Japan and China the preservers, and i forget which race but therewas the destroyers

@GeorgescuMihail really? it actually reminded me of more italian baroque composers

Yes, I believe that this was the period when Europe, and indeed mankind, was at its greatest. So much creativity and vitality! Unfortunately, all this is now come to an end. Islam is treatening to destroy the culture of "Old Europe". It makes me so incredibly sad. Maybe it is the destiny of Japan and China to carry the torch of civilzation further. I hope you will. Please do, for the sake of mankind!
this music reflects the culture of the German people

Actually, stylistically the only remotely germanic thing about this is the fugato second movement. Handel's musical style is Italian, with a little bit of French, and alot of English, primarily in his sacred music. Only the counterpoint reflects the Lutheran cantor's art he grew up with.

@HARMONICO101
Which would be the English style, since the only british composer able to create a "mode" was Henry Purcell, formed in continental Europe?

@relaurino for a quick answer, refer to the English choral composers pre-Purcell.

Alle Kunst hat ihre Schoenheit. Diese Musik wurde geschrieben ohne an Politik oder Rasse zu denken.
All Art has it's beauty. This music was written without the intention to serve politics and divide races. In reality it's a perfect tool to remind the souls in earthly roleplay of their spiritual home. Vielen Dank, Georg Friedrich!!
HARMONICO101..you will never succeed selling me an "English Style"??.. maybe the Georges I - IV are all english too ;-)

Rather than gone into exhaustive detail which I do not have time for, I will recommend to you Paul Henry Lang's biography of Handel which has a few extensive chapters that describe the English element of Handel's compositional style.
