Up for three days
Up for three days
Down under ground for six more
Incisions cannot penetrate my feet
Tripping, gliding, falling numbly
Hands held together with unwanted skin
Ripping, hiding calling dumbly

You, in houses of mud
You, in gutter sleep-love
You, born to slaughter-swathed gloves
You, dressing daughters and sons
Like you - I am broken and fragile
Like you - I am tasting my heart for the first time
Like you - I am feeding on slumber
Like you - I've left my eyes far behind me
Down for the count I'm still drowning
I'm still drowning

The eighth day
Sleep, the eighth day
Clawed my way back to the first
No gentle fingers collapse on my eyes
Weeping, prying, struggling blindly
There's no sanity standing me back on my feet

I'm in an empty room
I'm burning books from you
I'm lost in bed with you
Breaking these mirrors to end all I've seen

Like you - I am broken and fragile
Like you - I am tasting my heart for the first time
Like you - I am feeding on slumber
Like you - I've left my eyes far behind me
Down for the count I'm still drowning
I'm still drowning

I'm still drowning

  • Classic!

  • @Lizday1334 "catastrophe Ballet"

  • awesome. his words were so mature for his age.like a poetic savant. never gets old but i wish he did more work before he met his destiny.

  • Good old Rozz

  • Which album is this on?

  • It's a bit ironic how the tragic fate of Christian death perfectly suit them. A bit of machinations go a long way...

  • For all those with the "ooh Rozz is great Valor sucks" crap - you do realise that this album was already 3/4 written by Valor, Glass and Demone (including the lyrics) before Rozz joined the band (yes, Rozz joined their band, not the other way round) Rozz only completely wrote the lyrics for Sleepwalk, all the rest were mostly written and he touched them up. I liked his vocals on this album, but people stop caliming he is greater than he was - and don't forget, he is the one who left.

  • my ex got my into christian death i thought it was shit at first now this album and ashes and only thetre of pain are the greatest top albums ive ever heard since i was born,

  • remember my words a cunt in a band means trouble,so use a voicemodulator no mo trouble

  • i do agree with a lot of you on the rozz vs valor thing it is also a moot point 2 different

journeys of the band. rozz will be always and forever be the focal point of christian death, valor had moments of brilliance but also moments of dillusional garbage.but don not forget david glass who also brought a lot to the table and when he left i think, personally christian death really ended, anyways great memories however you look at it,peace
