The Harmonics perform Kevin Rudolf's "Let it Rock", with an introduction inspired by Daft Punk's "Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger". Filmed at the Harmonics' spring concert, AMPED, on May 30th, 2009. Read the review at: http://www.stanforddaily.com/cgi-bin/?p=1031701

Half a cappella group, half rock band, the Harmonics have garnered nationwide recognition for their innovation and in-your-face sound. They have been featured on BOCA, Sing, and Voices Only a cappella compilations, and recently won three Contemporary A Cappella Recording Awards (CARAs) for their brand new album, Escape Velocity, including Best Mixed Collegiate Album and Best Mixed Collegiate Song.

  • I assumed the original would be better. It wasn't. Dunno whether I should be sad or happy.

  • @glocknload

Oh, and they also recently won Favorite Mixed Collegiate Group and tied professional group SONOS for Most Innovative Group at the 2010 CARA awards. So, once again, if the Harmonics are indeed light on talent, then these other groups are really wasting their skills...

  • @glocknload

Well, you might be correct. However, I'd ask you in return how many of their peers won Best Mixed Collegiate Album, Song, and Arrangement with their most recent CD, which also happened to garner an Album of the Decade award.

If the Harmonics are indeed less talented than their peers, then their peers should be ashamed that they're squandering their talent and being put to shame by a group with less talent...

  • lots of production, good concept, but the talent compared to your peers is a bit light.

Purely subjective of course... but considering I am not part of peer group, I have no vested interested, so I think it is a true evaluation.

  • It's on iTunes!

  • that is so cool!

  • This song is incredible! I looked for it in your albums, and couldn't find it - you should record it!

  • damn, party time!!!
