What happens if you take too long on the final boss in Rayforce? Will he escape or not?

One thing about Rayforce that irritates me is that I can beat the final boss without dying, but I suck ass at the rest of the game.

@SFKhoa For the most part, Rayforce isn't the only game to punch us in the face with sad endings, think about R-type and it's sad depressing ending. If you haven't played it from Delta and beyond, you're missing out on how many times humanity suffered some losses to the Bydo. I even got a message from a R-type fan about the RTtactics 2 ending. Where the human side still gets turned into bydo, and much worse happens.....jeez. Irem and Taito...how do they get off doing this to us...?

@SFKhoa In other words the boss just self destructs instead of escaping. Also, could you make up a bad ending for Rayforce if the last boss DID escape?
