The funny but informative cartoon from Michael Moore's Bowling for Columbine. It humorously traces America's origins and links, for example, white suburban fear to gun use and local media's use of fear of crime as a factor in the purchase of firearms.

@Lyric1235
Totally not factual. The NRA was a gun club. One of its first presidents of the NRA was Ulysses s Grant. You know the same ulysses s grant who "As president, he led Reconstruction by signing and enforcing civil rights laws and fighting Ku Klux Klan violence" This movie is as full of shit as michael moore.

I'm a diehard liberal, but even I can't stand Michael Moore. I liken him to Ronald Reagan.

Don't believe me, do the research yourself.
The American education system painfully tries to twist history to put all the blame on white people. Reality is a bit different.

@plwaidner How about the African slave traders who sold them to us in the first place? Before they discovered the "American market" they would kill the males because they were harder to control and kept the women as their own personal slaves. Also, the NRA was founded in response to politicians taking away citizens' right to bear arms. Of course, the first citizens to be stripped of that right were the blacks, so the NRA protected their rights from the KKK dixicrats. There is more than wikipedia

Lol I think that was a nice way of summing things up...it's a hard pill to swallow ONLY seeing yourself NEGATIVELY portrayed especially when you know its only one part of a much bigger picture. The media does this to African Americans & other minorities EVERYDAY. Crimes commited & arrest rates are actually about the same amongst whites & blacks. CONVICTIONS however ARE NOT!!!

What would you call capturing thousands of people to use as slaves? Your statement about the NRA is straight up false. Nothing on NRA's website or their Wikipedia article says anything about that. There were a few rare blacks in the south who owned slaves. Usually it was an arrangement called "benevolent slavery." If you don't know what that is, do some reading.
