How to...Paint.NET tutorial 7 (text edit)

What you need:

Steps:

1) open a new image.
2) Add a new layer and write some text in a color of your choice
3) Duplicate layer with text and select the top layer
3) Go to Adjustments-Brightness/Contrast and darken the text (can use Color Balance instead)
4) use gradient tool in transparency mode and drag from the bottom to the middle of your text
5) Use the magic wand in global mode, to select text
6) Make a new layer.
7) Using the ellipse tool in filled shape mode draw in white on the top part of text (on the new layer)
8) Double click on your layer to open layer properties, and change opacity (i used 45)
[Make background layer invisible so you can see white outline]
9)Go to Effects-Object-Outline to outline your text in white (I used width: 7; softness: 15 in a different outline effect)
10) Duplicate the text layer, select the bottom duplicate and go to Adjustments-Curves
11) In RGB mode, drag the point to the bottom right of the box. Your text should be black
12) Go to Effects-Blurs-Gaussian Blur and blur by 10px
YOUR DONE


(I used feather tool because i used a different outline effect done really need to use Feather tool but its a great effect to have it comes with the effect plugin pack above)
(P.S. i still use v3.35 because i dont like v3.36 i believe the feather tool and alot of effect that i have dowloaded comes with v3.36)

well i would first make sure that your foreground color is not white.

and if the problem priests do troubleshooting for your keyboard.
