I got into a lot of trouble at home back in the 1970s because I called the phone number at the end of thes song. I hung up immediately when the call was answered as L.A.PD. I was curious about the number which is the reason that I called it. I never got the lowdown on how my parents knew all the details. I was stunned.

As wayward youths, my brothers and I spent endless hours rocking to the Cookbook. I remember one time the dirty boys came out to the neighbors, how could we resist. We jammed Sic 'em Pigs full on sonic boom. The boys tried to act like they couldn't hear it, but near the end we spotted one of them actually chuckling. It was a good day! Yeah, they were LACO Sheriffs.

When I was a child my father had a copy of the Canned Heat Cookbook and when this tune came on the piggy noises would cause me to roll around on the floor with laughter. I heard it again in 1990 at the age of 17 and it still made me laugh. I've been hooked on the Heat ever since. Thanx again bro!

Not EVERY radio station banned Sic 'Em Pigs! I worked at WBUS-FM/Miami back in 1971 and we played the hell out of this cut. The local cops would call us on the request line and give us "the heat" for airing it - but that only motivated us to play it even more! "Special dedication going out to the BSO...the Broward County Sheriff's Office...for beating the crap out of hippies! Thanks, Piggies..."
