Gorgeous day in America's finest city, San Diego California:
Largest historical march ever in downtown with tall buildings and a rainbow flag with people chanting 'EQUAL RIGHTS NOW'
Thousands march for equal rights With a myriad of handmade signs with statements like Let Mary marry Mary and Has anyone seen my civil rights? or Dont make love a battleground; It's not anarchy, it's equality; and My happiness will not hurt you. Grassroots community organizers across the country joined in an international protest against Proposition 8. Join the Impact organized these rallies to happen simultaneously as one loud voice to be heard across the nation. It is estimated that over 1,000,000 people participated in rallies and marches in over 300 cities in the US and internationally. San Diego participated with two coordinated events. The protest started at Sixth & Upas in Balboa Park and marched down Sixth to Broadway, ending at the County Administration Building where shade was a luxury. The rally spread messages of hope & equality while discussing the fight against Prop. 8 and what can be done to ensure equal rights for everyone

  • Love it! Such a great day! You got any videos of the rally?

  • Very cool This is history my friend you are taking part of. When you get older and look back on how things have changed for the better (and they will in time) you can say you were there and that you helped changed the way people think. As with change things take time. As with woman who fought to vote and people of color fought for the right to be free. You two will be able to sit back and say man it's been a long road but look how far we have come. Keep standing up for what you believe in!

  • ¡Wow amigo! estuvistes al tanto de todo esto.

  • Si se puede

"At a fundamental level, the Utah Mormons crossed the line on this one," said civil rights activist John Aravosis, an influential Washington, D.C-based blogger. "They just took marriage away from 20,000 couples and made their children bastards. You don't do that and get away with it.- John Aravosis.
