Well, I was seriously considering not uploading this for a couple of reasons. First, I was embarrassed about trying to go upright from a Scorpio (see 0:40); I knew better and have made this mistake before. Second, the video was stopped early by either camera error or videographer error, so some of the high points of the performance were not captured. There were two more minutes of performance following this piece, but only the last twenty-one seconds were captured which contained a Superman Fall and a Jade Split.
This was a birthday party at the bar where I work (as a bartender and barback alternately). At about 40 seconds, one of my co-workers, Chris (the lady wearing a black hat) walks in to catch the show. She was one birthday being celebrated that night, and she is probably my biggest fan locally. I was thrilled to perform at this party, just because Chris was one of the celebrants. Another birthday celebrant was Dov, a male student of mine, who is also the photographer who took almost all of the pole dance stills that are on my profiles on other sites. The other celebrant was my boss, Jesus, owner of this bar (the San Antonio Mining Company).
I decided to be rebellious and use retro-punk music instead of the usual gay bar pop and euro-dance music that is standard for performances at this venue. All of the other performers were drag queens who do not pole dance. I tried to make a costume to match the retro-punk musical theme and it was somewhat successful, except that the force I was exerting on some of my homemade accessories knocked them off my person! Additionally, the green hair paint I had slopped all over my head didn't even show up as green. But I couldn't find my green hair spray leftover from Halloween.
I was as warm as I could get in the cold basement that serves as our dressing room, and it was cold on the dance floor too. You can tell by the slippage from some of my thigh holds and body grips! All in all I was happier with the actual performance than I am with the video.
Among the combos not captured were (starting at the Gemini at this clip's end) knee hold, Scorpio, Gemini, Spinning Gemini, Scorpio, Spinning Scorpio, dismount; followed by a back hook spin to butterfly, split grip Aysha with leg variations (jackknife, straight edge, etc) to brass monkey, sit-up, spider climb, Superman, Scorpio, Jade Split (as best I can remember, may have got a couple combos switched around). The end.
This is another one of my favorite songs; it is "The Damned" by The Plasmatics. R.I.P. Wendy! Still love you, girl!
Aye, that lunchbox looked kinda messy! Much of the performance was, hence my hesitance to upload. And yes, I did get injured by my accessories, but I was expecting that anyway. It isn't the first time I've suffered for the art.
