Obama Whistle Stop Train Philadelphia to Washington

It was 9 degrees Fahrenheit in Philadelphia this morning but I bundled up as best I could and took the 10 minute trolley down to 30th Street Train Station to catch the launch of Whistle Stop Train ride for President Elect Barack Obama. Without getting into a big history lesson, this is the route that Abe Lincoln used when he went Washington to be inaugurated. The Whistle Stop was making a stop in Wilmington Delaware to pick up Vice President Elect Joe Biden.

@Driverman2008 Nope that train only was head for Washington D.C . Amtrak chose to use Diesels just incase the catenary had a blackout. Electric locomotives would of needed to wait for diesels to rescue it if that happened

Now that's some interesting train trivia.

Because the train went from New York to Miami. The electric catenary lines end in Washington D.C.. From Washington D.C. to Miami, it's all non-electric.
