A righteous man,Yun Bong-gil was born in Dojungdo,Siryang-ri in 1908.
His original name is U-ui. His nike name is Bong-gil.
The house where he was born is called jeohandang At the age of 11 he entered Deoksan Elementary School.
But next year he left school because of dissatisfaction against the Japanese teacher.
At the age of 13 he studied the Chinese literature.
His teacher, Seong Ju-rok gave him a pen name,?Maeheon?
At the age of 19 he wrote『Reading for Farmers』
and established Woljinhoe to acquir the new culture and to innovate the agricultural society.
In 1930 he left home to avoid the oppression of the Japanese police and joined in Haninaegukdan.
On April 29th, 1932, at the Cheonjangjeol ceremony of the birth date of the Japanese King,
he threw the senior Japanese a bomb and killed or injured tens of them.
He was captured by the Japanese police on the spot and was executed on December 19th, same year.
By this accident the Korean Independence Movement was declared throughout the world.
Chunguisa, where the portrait is enshrined has a red gateway with bars on top and a three door gate.
Relics are displayed in the Monument Hall.
