1963 Phillips label single, and on album Terrific Teresa.
Lyrics:
Da-da, da, dada, da, dara, da dara da dada da
She may kiss you like i do
She may hold you like do
But she'll never...never, never
She will never ever love you like i do
She may whisper your her only
That with out you she is lonely.
But she'll never...never, never
She will never ever love you like i do

She may buy you a ball
But she'll never be at home
When you'll call
Can't you tell by her smile
She just want your heart
To play with for a while

She may kiss you like i do
She may hold you like do
But she'll never...never, never
She will never ever love you like i do
Da-da, da, dara, da, dara, da dada da dada da
She may buy you a ball
But she'll never be at home
When you call
Can't you tell by her smile
She Just wants your heart
To play with for a while

She may kiss you like i do
She may hold you like i do
But she'll never, never, never
She will never, never love you like i do
Da-da, da, dada, da, dara, da dara da dada da

  • Oh my. It's Ponchielli's "Dance of the Hours"... again.

  • This was recorded by both Nancy Sinatra & Maureen Evens. The title is 'Like I Do'.

  • Was this song recorded by someone else before? I remember hearing it on Capitol Gold Radio (while I was at work!) about 17-18 years ago.

  • Your right on your thought that this song is the same music composition as "Hello Muddah, Hello Faddah", however this song came out first. It was released in 1962. Allen Sherman's song was released in the early summer of 1963.

  • Or perhaps that's a cover of the Alan Sherman song...

  • I've been looking for this for LONG time. Many thanks!

There is a famous - at least in Sweden - version of this by Cornelis Vreeswijk - "Brev från kolonien".

  • @ageingtrucker ....Nancy The song is called Camp Grenada, by Alan Sherman
