AIDS in Iran, SPASDI 10th Anniversary

SPASDI's 10th anniversary event was held in the Psychology department lecture hall at Teacher's Training Institute (Tarbiat Moalem) on Aug 2009. At the front row stood many children that were HIV positive, and to increase social awareness, Khosro Mansourian took a bowl of milk already tasted by one of the children, and drank the rest of it in front of the audience.

This event took place on the 21st of ramadan, which is the anniversary of martyrdom of Imam Ali, an iconic muslim, and the follower of the sunnah of the prophet of Islam.

Mansourian said: "Like Ali sharing the milk bowl with orphan children, I am going to drink from a child's milk bowl to break the taboo that society tends to distance itself from the AIDS victims". The event came to an end by everyone sitting together to break their fast.
