  • @mzzzhedison German is the ultimate language for opera, not like those screaming Italians rolling their eyes around the stage - Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart

  • Heard this over 15 years ago and still my favorite rendition of the Ave Maria. Magnificent.

  • The most magnanimously beautiful song ever written. That is all.

  • @jewelmarkess who is arguing? Happy New year to you 2

  • @LazyBoy9476 One doesn't argue about tastes regarding music one likes; it's perfectly fine to disagree. Lieder is still not part of opera but both are part of classical vocal music as is oratorio. "Part time" - depends on the level of singing. Regardless, very best to you and Happy New Year!

  • @jewelmarkess It's okay to disagre. For me. French operas pierce my ears too nasily? would that describe the feeling? I do not know. hard to explain. Spanish operas are too soft. Italian operas are a bit too dramatic and emotional. It all depends on your taste and it is OKAY. all operas are great the time the dedication that goes in putting 1 together. Not everyone can sing opera it is not a part time gig. Classical singing you can go part time. Anyway, happy new year!

  • @LazyBoy9476 I don't disagree about German operas, although I can't say I prefer them, but it's the matter of taste; you are right about the language. As to opera/classical it is the other way around. Opera dictionary definition is very clear. Opera is part of classical vocal music, it uses classical style of singing, but chamber music, church music like oratorio use the same style.

  • @jewelmarkess classical singing is part of an opera technically speaking. I am just saying german written operas have something unique. The diction is very different than italian, spanish or any other language.

  • @LazyBoy9476 This is a song not an opera, no relation to opera. As to operas - matter of taste, many great operas in every language, we can appreciate them all in a different way.

  • @foto64 i have to agree with you there.. i have been roaming through operas.. German operas seem to be winning..

  • so lovely

  • She is the best soprano I have ever heard. Truly, this is beautiful.
