These are some photos that I took at the 2009 Veterans Day parade held on the campus of Bossier Parish Community College. This turned out to be a great event with a very lively crowd. I hate that I got there a few minuets late, which meant that I missed most of the active solders marching from Barksdale Air force Base. However, what I loved was seeing the diverse crowd coming together to celebrate those who have given so much. Years ago I remember marching in a very similar parade as a member of the Boy Scouts (Troop 5 to be exact). That was a day that I will never forget, it instilled me with tremendous pride. Im happy to note that the same pride was still alive and was apparent from the high school ROTC squads that participated in the parade.
I was never in the service and I feel that our military actions today are somewhat misguided. That being said, EVERY man or woman who has ever chosen to serve our country and to do there part to protect freedom and Liberty has my utmost respect.
God Bless them and God Bless the USA.
That was a great tribute.
Fantastic images, very well done.
Thank you for posting.
