He was simply ASTONISHING....I'm sure even Elvis looked back on himself in those early years and said...WOW....
The energy, the audacity, the originality, the talent, the charisma, the looks.....all off the charts.....

Yes he was COOL! Most of these pictures were taken by famed photographer Al Wertheimer who was assigned by RCA to follow Elvis around and take pictures of him in ordinary circumstances like falling asleep on the pile of fan mail. Al explains how the "Tongue Kiss" picture came about on Cath's Yeah Fest--Al Wertheimer. He just came around the corner & found Elvis with the unknown girl & took a series of great pictures. They were not "on the road," but were appearing on a TV show.
