This is one of a totall of 13 recordings (including an interview) that I upload of Arrigo Pola, the first Luciano Pavarotti´s teacher; the man who build the base (the most important to me) of the voice of Pavarotti and then Campogalliani painted the structure. I couldn´t find any pictures of Arrigo Pola and have no dates of the recordings but you will realize that theye are from different years.

Even when they had very different kind of the tenor voices, in the singing of Mr. Pola I can hear some sounds similar to Pavarotti. Do you?

Please enjoy!

  • Great!!!!, it really sounds like Kraus, due to the fact both are "in maschera"; they share the "classical voice technique" of been in the latin"i" like a basement to to impostate their voices. Bravo Arrigo Pola!!!!

  • @tenorschofield I must say that is not te classical voice technique but the only true one... so, why singers cannot sing like this anymore, struggling with high notes? Is not a fact of lackof voices... but of vocal teachers!!!!!

  • @aguacun 100% agree with you!!!. I studied with A. Kraus in Madrid and Santander; he ussed to say this, that there was no lack of voices, but of good voice teachers!!!!

Sadly myself by been a tenor, cannot blame my limitations to teachers, but to my "testa di tenore"ha,ha!!!

  • @tenorschofield hahahahaha! But at least you knew Alfredo Kraus, You was stand besides him, you listen to him from his mouth to your ears and body directly and not just trough Tv, sound sistem or pc speakers like me. But I have to say that if we have to recognize our weak points on singing, is healthy to know this with the reference of the true technique. Some people resign singing because they belive they have not qualities without realize that the truth is that have not a vocal teacher.

  • I don't know what you think, but in this recording Arrigo's voice sounds similar to Alfredo Kraus

  • Just in few moments but yes, you´re right...

  • LUCIANO PAVAROTTI'S TEACHER

  • @tenorschofield Canta in maschera, come tutti i tenori della vecchia scuola, quanto a Kraus ha una voce di testa e leggermente nasale, anche se tecnica suprema.

  • @tenorschofield search for jamesjmccray-voicestudio

  • @roundrocktx Thank you very much for this data; I will try to learn more about him. Has he a webpage?, I will try to look for him at youtube.com; thank you very much!!!

  • @tenorschofield In The Hague,The Netherlands there is James McCray,a Dramatic tenor, who was a student of Mario Del Monaco. He still knows how to teach the vintage vocal technique.

His students sing all over the world with the most well known,Eva Maria Westbroek who's going to debut in the Met...

  • As I expected: I hear manner and Technics Pavarotti learned from his teacher... same volume control, same covered vowels, absolute appoggio control and master control of vibrato and its speed... bravo!
