Good News was the most-watched cable television (only) show in the mid '80s, when the only cable networks were TBS and HBO. Jay Cordova did this amazing animation BEFORE THE INVENTION of computer graphics using an Ampex ADO digital video processor and 7-9 synchronized 1" Type-C videotape machines. Mind boggling. No computers involved except the one CPU in the ADO. All compositing done through cascaded luminance keys, with 0ire baselines as transparent mattes.
Hats off.
