Halo: Baptism By Fire (Short Film)

A short film based on the 'Halo' universe made by some graduating film students from the University of Derby.
The film was made on a shoestring budget; all costumes and props were made by ourselves

Spartans do not have families. But more importantly, they do not have funerals. In the storyline no Spartan has ever been declared KIA, only listed MIA. I'm not saying this wasn't a decent effort as far as low budget production, but I'd rather the Nerf guns had been left unpainted if it meant the storyline would be accurate. As far as I'm concerned, this is like saying Batman road a horse instead of having a batmobile. TL;DR - Back story exists for a reason, show interest.

Given that "Hollywood" and Microsoft lack the faith to give us the film we've all been asking for for years, these guys should get an oscar for reminding the fat cats how it's done.

At least they've given us a movie which is more that Spielberg, Jackson and Bates have done.

If this is a shoestring budget, just imagine what these guys could do if they were given a few £million, a few pointers from Mr Blomkamp and support from Weta Workshop...
