The raising of the towers for the Galaxy Lift at Bristol Mountain in New York
Edited description from Bristol Mt:
It took as little as 6 minutes for the construction helicopter to deliver each tower up the mountain to the tower foundation and return for another tower. One pilot, one co-pilot and 3 ground crew members represented Construction Helicopters, Inc. This team worked in tandem with the Bristol Mountain crew on the project.

The lift towers weigh approximately 5,000 lbs and are between 30 and 38 feet in height. The new Galaxy Express High Speed Detachable Quad lift will carry guests from the base to the top of the mountain in just over 4 minutes.

  • trails are supposed to come next year as are more chairs for it, it wasn't just put there for the existing stuff there are big plans for future expansion

  • This is a great lift for the people that go over there. But only like 40% of the skiers go over there so idk if it was a wise investment. Hopefully more trails get put over there! (:

  • its hardly ever open during the day unless its a holiday other than that its been running at night a lot which is cool for the idiots that are there at night but the ones that ride during the day don't get it as much

  • i was told by the lift supervisors it will go 1200 fpm but they only run it at 1000 because of NYS regulations.

  • it is open almost every day, except for after they turn the lights on.

  • no, it goes 1,200 feet per minute and the comet express quad goes 1,000 feet per minute.

  • it runs at the same speed at the other high speed, NYS does not let them run it any faster. Its a sweet lift tho and its only gonna get better when more trails get cut down to it

  • i have been on it and it is by far faster than the comet express quad.

  • don't expect it to be open all the time, i talked to some of the supervisors in the lift department and they said it will probably be just like the old one, open on weekends and busy days
