Selective Colour in Photoshop, plus a quick bit about Curves

This is a tutorial that (tries to) demonstrate the power of the Selective Colour dialogue in Photoshop. I mess up a little (accidentally leaving the dialogue on absolute instead of relative), but I think it works out anyway...

I also do my best to explain how Curves actually works, (especially why an s-curve works to increase contrast).

Is there a way you can do this when you have two very similar colors but only want one to change color? My situation is pink chalk graffiti on a white cement wall.
