@57worldwide Communism is unworkable because it distinctivizes work, human beings are not willing to work simply for the benifit of society as a whole without a direct reward to themselves. Communism does work and is natural but only in the prime human group of 150-250 or less (see: Dunbar Unit). The Dunbar unit is the amount of people we can conceptualize as actual people and show real empathy for and thus sacrifice for. Large communist societies require massive coercion in order to work.

@kubaniski The way communism was demonised by the Nazis is exactly the same way it was demonised by the US. Nationalism has been used against a nation's citizens so many times.

@57worldwide Actually communism in it's pure Marxian form is ideologically against patriotism as it was what Marx called a "bourgeois illusion." Stalinist and later Soviet communism was heavily nationalistic due to the strong nationalism of most Russians.

However to the Nazi's it didn't matter if one part of the Jewish population supported the commies and another didn't. As long as their charge stuck(and it did) they could effectively use it to sway people to their side.

@kubaniski The Jewish people who were part of the market minority weren't usually the ones supporting communism. Yes, there were Jewish people supporting communism - people who didn't have much.

Jews weren't easily identifiable. You're talking about a stereotype of Jewish people that people identified as being Jewish. Some of that stereotype was manufactured by Hitler's party.

I know you didn't say communism was Jewish, I just feel I should point out that communism was made to look unpatriotic.

@57worldwide I didnt say communism was Jewish. I said tat Jews were heavily involved in the commie party. Jews were also involved in right wing conservative movements, but what drew the nazi's attention to Jews was the fact that they were easily identifiable, already hated in german society, and many were involved in movements the nazi's already opposed. Simply being different rarely inspires the genocidal fervor that occurred in Germany and is consistent with other market-minority genocides.

@kubaniski The 'Communism is Jewish' thing was manufactured by anti Communists. Just like Communism being unpatriotic (which was also mainstream USA at one time). Before there was violence against Jews, there was first violence against the political rivals of the National Socialist party.

Like I said, there were Jewish people who fought for Germany in WWI. The fact that some people were later led to believ that Communism was synonymous with Judaism, is evidence of the strength of propaganda.

@57worldwide Conflicts between ethnic groups within nations are quiet common however violence against market-dominant minorities like the Jews are notorious. The same thing that lead to the killing of Jews is what happened to the affluent Armenian minority in Turkey, to the Arabs and Hindus of east Africa (see Zanzibar Revolution), it's currently happening to whites in Zimbabwe and SA, And to the Chinese in Southeast Asia.

@57worldwide All of this is true however for the Nazi's blaming the French was of little use as the french were in France, but the Jews who largely were not directly responsible for the financial problems were still a very juicy target for nazi propaganda as they were a foreign nation within Germany and one heavily involved in banking and movements such as communism.
