In this video I'll show a DJ-ish setup using Ableton Live and the Behringer BCD3000 as a controller. The keyboard is routed to the B side of the mixer, so I can handle it like a song or sample, adding effects and crossfading.

  • Hi.

Can you with ablt Live and that controller sample the keyboard playing in real time, then stop playing, and let it continous sounding y its own, looped, and free you up for other tasks? Im searching to do that and i can´t decide wich controller to use with Live. Thanxs for the help. Motz.

  • @motzdrums There are better (and cheaper) controllers to do that, like those Akai MPC-a-like ones.

  • how bout makin it simple and uploading the midi patches??

  • @gsxr386 Those patches were done live, and was just to show what you can do, not good enough to publish!

  • I do with cool edit but it(he,she) falls to 8 minutes aprox. There will be for the PC, which it(he,she) does not bear not?---> PROBLEM.

  • @onnaquest I use Live 8.2

  • @paulvandyk13 Had some luck yesterday... Go to Preferences/Midi look for "midi ports" at the bottom of the window. You should see the BCD3000 in the there (even though it isn't listed as a control surface.) Make sure you enable the "track" and "remote" options. Now go back to Live, enter midi map mode, double click a volume slider or something and move the fader or knob on the BCD. This worked for me.

  • @onnaquest Nothing yet... :(

I cant find a find or create a midi setup...i just can use it as a sound card...without midi controlling..

  • i have a question do you have to have a usb midi keyboard to make beats on ableton or can you use your laptop keyboards or a trackpad .?? answer asap please :] i wanna buy it .

  • how i can save the setup i make in ableton? even in my midi keyboard i don't know how to do it

  • Is there a way for me to hook up my keyboard to ableton but only use the sounds on my keyboard to record?
