Wizard Modern Classic amplifier Chris Cheney-like sound

Whos gonna save us by The Living End was recorded with a Wizard 100w Modern Classic with its clean channel on 10, Bogner cabinet and a Gretsch White Falcon. I've pulled out all 3 to get a simular sound.

hi bud, nice work, how do u find the hot plate has improved ur sound as to without it? cheers...

I dont think it plays with the tone that much. Sound changes when it gets loud and speakers are pushing harder - you simply cannot reproduce that - But these days I use low wattage speakers that break up nice and early and play without a hotplate. Never really getting the amp over 2.

Watch out you don't overcook that amp in the flightcase!!

the back comes off the case and I have removed the big back plate off the amp - so its actually better ventilated than most other amps you ever see around :)

its called a hot plate/annuator. basically you can get the tones you would get playing louder, but you can achieve them at a lower volume
