  • This is a fps for a real qw man...

  • the interview is on the promode site :) just go to the promode site, then the wiki, then it should be under the interviews section

  • youtube doesn't want to let me post the URL

  • Bah youtube keeps eating my posts :(. I replied on the thread attached to the arQon interview you referred to.

  • The whole concept of promode (conceived by hoony et al) is to emulate QuakeWorld in order to fix Quake3 which is broken. And while cpma is a drastic improvement over Quake3 that I'm sure I'd love if I were ignorant of QuakeWorld, it has compromised on the elegance, sublety, & difficulty of QW. I couldn't find the interview you referred to for comment, 'cause you gave 'arq0n' as the spelling, I'll read it now.

  • It might be quakeworld like, but nothing was taken from quakeworld in cpm, some stuff was taken form the orig quake, but not the quakeworld mod itself, read the arqon interview on the promode site wiki :)

  • You're a moron. Go beat off to QW in a corner. No one cares that you haven't moved past 1997 yet. Not our problem.

  • You're mistaken 'EntTheGod', Aspects of CPM directly taken from QW: Bunny hopping! instant weapon switch, no footstep sounds, faster (read: proper speed:) rockets, more interesting rocket knockback, and shaft knockback and more QWesque weapon balance.

  • FYI I replied to this already but youtube ate the damned post.

  • ... I don't hate everything, what I hate are all superficial derivative QW simulacra that only serve to obscure QW from its rightful place, from potential new players, from players that have long ago quit QW in its infancy on the premise that one of the newer quakes somehow improved upon the game (mediocracy and eye candy is what makes games profitable). Hypothetically, I'm sure I would love q3cpm('pro-mode') for example, if QW did not exist, or if there were any improvements to be made over QW.
