In fact I had a double LP album of this concert, which has long since vanished, so presumably there is still a master recording in some company archive. I remember he was very impressive on the night but his voice began to tire towards the end, which is hardly surprising. Anyway, with luck, it may be released again on CD or as an MP3 download. I certainly hope so. By the way, don't lend albums to family members, they lose them!!!

@ivorbigunzz I disagree, I envy Brits just for the BBC, as long as you can get BBC 1-2-3-4 you get to see a lot of good stuff, which isn't true for me anymore over here in South America. A great miss... :-(

For whatever reason, the lp of this concert is and has been one of my favorites for years and years. I certainly would purchase a dvd release of it. I've looked and looked for it. Check out the ending of the Trolley Song...

Have you got a copy of the entire concert? I would be willing to pay for this great concert, because I remember it when it was broadcast in 1971.

I've been looking to buy a copy of this particular concert. I have worn out an lp.........
So much History locked away at the BBC.
Shame the idiots at the Beeb don't understand what they have
Too busy churning out the rubbish they NOW think is entertainment.

@ivorbigunzz I totally agree. At least a few old concerts/tv specials are starting to appear on BBC4. They could make a fortune by releasing these on request on DVDr. I'm sure fans would pay a considerable fee to obtain good quality copies of these shows. I'd love to see Tony's 1969 BBC special again. I saw it once at the NFT in London about 15 years ago but I dont think it's seen the light of day since.

This is the type of concert that should be available on DVD - it captures one of the all time greats at his peak, and I'd love to see more of it.
