@jumpforfakinjoy Stalls are full of win. I have a 3800 stall with a huge cooler and it is very streetable and well-mannered with the exception of some tune refinements that need to be made. My lock-up occurs a little too early at this point, but the dyno tune should fix all of that. I'm hoping to run low-mid 13s this year.

What size stall should i get for my 2011 5.0 daily driver?
-
Im thinking like 3.73 for my car, mostly daily driver, weekender car,and car show's,iv'e heard changing from stock 3.31's is like adding another supercharger, and iv'e got the stage 2 edelbrock E-force,good for 10lbs boost, and comp cams, headders, full 3'' magnaflow, magnapack exhaust, and SCt tuned for around 489 at the wheels.
-
@GMurphSC06GT 4.10 auto, 3.73 standard, in my opinion is the highest you should go if its a daily.

Got a question for someone to help me out.My 2006 mustang Gt is also an automatic, with stock 3.31s,my mods are,Edelbrock Supercharger@ 9LBs boost, comp cams stage 1,Jba shorties, pypes high flow cats,Magnapack muffler's and SCT tuned for around 480 RWHP,what gears would be sufficient for me ,3.55s or 3.73,it's basically a street driven car, thanks.

BroI would hella like to know you new 1/4 time with just the converter upgrade if you done one. I got a 06 Gt thinking about installing one.

it shouldn't mess with any torque or mess with the performance...i think it only activates when your holding your break anyways like your power breaking it.
-
@mosquiton001 not really... it's more like slipping the clutch in a stick-shift. Doesn't require any more power to move the car. The car won't move from a stop until stall speed is reached, so when you do move, you're already higher up in rpm's and therefor, already making more power than before. If you go too high of a stall, you can screw drivability - but that can then be corrected with higher (numerically) gears..

@scupking Bad idea to order a non locking converter. If this is daily driver car, 20 minutes of cruising in overdrive on the highway with no lockup will get your trans fluid so hot it will ruin your transmission. Literally, 30 minutes tops on the highway in fourth with no lockup will burn your trans down. Non-locking converters are for drag race use ONLY. It's not gonna make your car any faster, just hurt your gas mileage and like I said, destroy your transmission.
Activates???
You change the Torque Converter in the transmission.... It changes the stall speed, when the Torque Converter "grabs". Once you change the Torque Converter it is always "activated".

i really dnt knw much about stall conv...wouldnt putting gears in my car help me out the same way a stall would from like a 10 mph roll? ? im kinda confused and som help and input on stalls would b greatly appreciated

The stall will get you higher in the rpm's before you launch, or before the torque converter will lock up. Gears will help you but not in the same way. The torque converter gets you up in the power band so you can launch the car harder from a dead stop. I will always have one in a daily driver/hot rod just because it sounds cooler, runs better and just makes the whole experience (for me) more enjoyable!

Hey, im bout to get a 10" PTC 3000 converter for my 4.6L 2000.
How does the car act when your cruising and the rpms are below 3000 and get on it.
will it jump up to 3000 real quick and take off or what
how does it act at lower rpm and mid rpm when you get on it is what id liek to know.
also how do you like it? HUGE improvement or what
thanks for the input

If your just cruising below the stall speed, the car almost sounds like it has one gear.....it will shift normally but your never really locked up so it basically holds the same rpm's as you go. This was one of the biggest improvements as far as making the car "feel" like it has a lot more power. I love it!! I now have a 3500 stall in it...

correct me If I am wrong, isn't that going to "force" you to give it more gas to start moving in "normal condition"??
i mean higher stalls mean that you will not transfer all of the low-end torque potential until that defined stall speed.. wich (excluding hard launch) in normal driving will just make the car "slower" like it has less torque and use more fuel..
I am right??

Sounds about right!
I'm not worried about fuel economy....
AND, if you want some torque, just stab the throttle and off you go!! Definitely doesn't make the car slower, just changes the way it transfers power.
Its a HUGE difference between stock stall and this TCI 3000 stall!! You'll smile everytime you get in the car!! :D
