This is the performance that always without fail gives me "goose flesh" every time. I very much like the slightly slower tempo; it's not rushed and the second verse is full of emotion. You can tell she feels / means what she sings and it truly coming from her inner self. Absolutely love the way she ends the piece.  Magnificently done! Kudos to you!

I feel the same way about Dame Joan. There is no one like her, however, when I watched the video of Renee Fleming singing "Casta Diva" at the Palaces of the Tsars, I changed my mind. If you haven't seen that, I recommend it.

I admit to almost stop going to live opera after the retirement of the great Dame Joan Sutherland.

I also admit I did not think Fleming was outstanding at one time because I heard her sing a bad "Vissi d'arte". I'm wrong to not look further.

I somehow accidentally got into a link that has Fleming singing an Armida aria while I was actually trying to go to hear Callas singing it.

I was surprised to find Fleming's coloratura outstanding.

I'm now a fan.

Her singing of this aria is stunning!
