I think that this video is talking about the developmental aspects that leave children vulnerable to sex trafficking. They don't start at 11-17 but much earlier. Children who witness parents' domestic violence, substance abuse, codependency and/or absenteeism are more likely to have a warped sense of normalcy. Yes, this child is probably too young to verbalize it all in the above way, but PSA calls attention to what our children may be learning from the adults in their lives.

All little girls, like the one in the video, have hopes and dreams. For some their dreams include “one day” meeting a man who will love her. The video is about that “one day” turning into a nightmare.  It illustrates not that girls this young are regularly involved in prostitution, but that girls who are involved in prostitution as teenagers are often involved because they met a man who they thought loved them, and that the man was actually a pimp. This is a very common scenario.

@drloislee Dr. Lee, thanks for saying this! I totally agree and think it's ridiculous that ECPAT is instilling unneccessary fears for such young children. This is damning to the youths that are in-between adulthood and childhood who are often the ones that are prostituted.

Rarely are America's child prostitutes this young.

We are really misleading the public to make them think that American children are being sold into prostitution this young.

It makes America's child prostitute (11-17 years old) even less sympathetic.

Our job is to make America's real child prostitutes sympathetic with their foul language, exposed butts, breasts & belly's and often time unwillingness to accept help.

that is terible and messed up that they have videos like that. And there are sick people out there that do that kind of stuff to them. I don't know how they can live with them selves knowing that they hurt a preciuos child like they do. I have 2 girls . and I am scared when they go out. due to the stuff going on . they are sick.
