The noise is because of the dynamic stability control DSC system which he did not turn off completely.

X5 owners, if you want to make donuts in snow and have fun, make sure you turn off DSC system completely by pressing the DSC button and keep it pressed for about 3-4 sec until see warning message on the dash board, right in the middle.

If you press the button in only once and release it, you will turn no off only wheels anti-slip system
