Turn down boost the send and mix levels, and you should be cooking, even if it's a parallel loop, as the wet signal will have more priority than the dry. However, you will need to have a volume boost on the Tc when the effect is switched out as otherwise you may get a volume drop.

On a Mesa, you could use the solo pedal to reduce the volume so that when you flick the effect in, and get a volume boost, you can drop the volume with the mesa footpedal.

HTH.

If you turn the mix on a parallel loop to 100% wet, will it essentially be the same as the serial loop?

If it's 100%, then yes.

not necessarily. If it is still a parallel loop you are getting a dry signal running 'parallel' with a wet signal. Some amps may mix well with others when turned to 100% in the mix and some dont play so nicely.....I found that out the hard way :) Bottom line is the Gsystem (I am only referring to this unit because I own it) does not sound great because of the loop. But with some new firmware on the TC side it may take care of the issue (as noted in the video) good luck

If there is still dry signal comming through it's not 100% wet.
