Artist Bill Butler (www.thomaslift.com) created this painting for the video to be shown Good Friday, 2006, at Lutheran Church of Hope in West Des Moines, IA. The process he used is very interesting. The painting/filming lasted through the night, resulting in 6 or 7 full tapes to edit. Bill's work is regularly shown in galleries in Des Moines. The image will be hard to discern...hit pause at the end. It is a close profile of the right side of Christ's face as he hung on the cross. The tip of his nose is at the very center of the screen. The title of Bill's work, "Breathed" originates from Luke 23:46 "Then Jesus shouted, "Father, I entrust My spirit into Your hands!" And with those words He breathed His last."
