when that dog died i had to cry! that dog ment everything to me and made me think, if that really happens not matter how much you say you hate your family, you can't just let them die, alone and heart broken you would have to walk this world

I hate to troll on people but... the woman who was with the boy wasn't his mother, it looked like that because the boys real family [ his brother and his parents] were eaten by the darkseekers. the boy [ Joshua ] lived and was rescued by the military which brought him to a rescue boat [where she was] and they met, and when infected attacked they were the only survivors so she took him on her journey. and this also explains why he was so traumatized

and speechless in the movie after seeing that.
