Is it just me or is Hugh Ross adding to the word of God?

I don't think Hugh Ross has a valid argument - saying it takes God 1000+ years to create the heavens and the earth would mean it would take the WORD *Jesus* 1000+ years  to say LET THERE BE LIGHT...doesn't pan out for me. Hovind rocks.
