Monk Parakeet Chick & Mom

Tender moments between a Monk (Quaker) Parakeet parent and chick. My guess is that it's mom, and all she wants to do is take a much-needed nap, but baby wants lunch NOW. If you listen closely, you can hear a faint bleating sound in the background. That's the begging sound that the chick is making. There's a second chick in the nest that you can sometimes see in the background. Shot this in South Florida near Fort Lauderdale at a small park. Idling bus, motorcycles, and airboats make up most of the background noise, unfortunately, but that's the world these birds live in.
