Percy Faith and his orchestra perform Max Steiner's theme of the classic 1959 film, "A Summer Place" complimented by clips from the movie. Who can forget the beautiful Sandra Dee and handsome Troy Donahue, the perfect embodiment of yearning romantic youth? Or Richard Egan and Dorothy McGuire as old flames trapped in loveless marriages, who find their way back to each other, igniting a firestorm as their children fall in love with one another and their respective spouses (Constance Ford and Arthur Kennedy) battle it out over control of the kids? I grew up during this magical time. Of course I didn't know it was magical then. I just took it for granted. Why does it seem like the girls were prettier then? More femine and soft? I loved this movie and I love the theme from "A Summer Place" This song played everywhere me and my then boyfriend went. We soon began to call it our song. And we got married in 1960 and we are still together.

@jaytlr9 I never got the idea that I was supposed to approve of Ken and Sylvia's cheating on their spouses. and I have been watching this film over 40 years. What I felt was a sadness that these two loving people were young once, and very much in love, before their spouses even entered the picture, however because of circumstances, they couldn't fight, they eventually ended up with other people, they tried to make a life with. Complex relationships, real life.
