  • Apparently, only the left gravity arm gives impulse. Is tehre a reason for that ?

  • @12Pascal21

The design is based upon one by Ggrimthorp.Thwaites and Reeds adapted this to what you see in the Vid.

    to quote-

This development of Lord Grimthorp's escapement has one or two advantages over the original 'double three legged' one and has been used in regulators. It has six legs and only impulses once every two beats of the pendulum, consequently the gearing of the wheel train does not have to be so high. Also the wheels may also be smaller and lighter.

    In a nutshell.

    Cheers

  • It's good to see high count lantern pinions used in a movement of this superb quality. Are you happy with your escapement's action yet?

  • @Tricyklist Hi and thanks for the comments!!

The escapement runs just fine and the clock keep good time.

The impulse arms If I were extremely fussy could be made a little but while it's running ok I decided to leave it well alone.

The whole clock is very good quality and pleasing to the eye even better in the flesh!!

    Cheers for looking. Mark
